France is experiencing a new eruption of cocaine use, with 1.1 million people having taken the illegal drug at least once in 2023, according to a study released on Wednesday. Faced with the “explosion” of supply and demand for cocaine, French authorities are embracing proposals to crack down on traffickers and drug-related crime.
