As Kit Green’s past comes back to haunt him, an innocent Craig Tinker will find himself in the crossfire in a special week of Coronation Street.

Next week’s episodes of the ITV soap will follow the stories of both characters as viewers will uncover the secrets surrounding Mick Michaelis’ hold on Kit, leaving both his friends and family in grave danger.

And while a series of climactic events unfold on the street, culminating in a shocking and horrific incident, we’ll see Craig’s life hanging in the balance as he fights for every breath. As history catches up with him, will Kit’s future be destined to haunt him forever as well as his past?

As the week gets underway, Bernie Winter catches Brody shoplifting. Kit goes after him. As Kit and Mick have words once more, Kit lets slip to Mick that Lou isn’t as loyal as he likes to think.

Meanwhile Kit’s love interest, Sarah Barlow, calls at the bistro and books a romantic meal for Kit’s birthday, there’s a major distraction as Mick confronts Lou in a foul mood over Kit’s earlier remark.

With tempers rising and Lou suddenly out of contact, Sean Tully and Gemma Winter-Brown worry about what Mick may have done to her. Sean goes to the police station, admitting he needs to change his earlier statement as it was Mick who assaulted him and left him for dead.

As Lou dabs at a head wound, she urges Mick to come home and talk. Consumed with rage, Mick speeds away in his van. But Kit calls Mick, who screams at Kit that everything is down to him, before killing the call and taking matters into his own hands. Are Kit and Lou in danger?

Elsewhere, an excited Craig arrives for work to shadow Kit as part of his CID placement, while making plans for an internet date that evening. After being largely ignored by Kit all day, a despondent Craig tells DS Lisa Swain that Kit doesn’t rate his work.

Lisa urges him to prove Kit wrong. When Craig is called to investigate a disturbance, he sees his chance. Can Craig prove himself to Kit? Or will fate have other plans for Craig?

Following on from the shocking events of Monday’s (May 19) episode an ambulance arrives and Asha leaps into action. As Craig struggles to explain what happened, Lisa arrives and is shocked at the severity of his injuries.

As Craig is loaded into the ambulance, Maria Windass explains to Lisa how she found him covered in blood. Once in intensive care, Lisa learns that Craig has swelling on the brain. Craig regains consciousness and tells Asha Alahan that he knows what happened to him. But as his colleague and friend Jess tries to question him, Craig’s already worrying condition deteriorates.

Meanwhile, Lou explains to her children, Shanice and Joanie, that they’re going away for a few days. Tim Metcalfe picks them up in his cab, noticing the cut on Lou’s head, Tim insists on taking her to A&E first.

Elsewhere, Sarah lets herself into her flat, unaware that Mick has followed her in. As she turns, she jumps out of her skin and orders him to leave, but Mick insists he’s going nowhere until she summons Kit.

At the hospital, the nurse looks at Lou’s injuries and realises she’s in an abusive relationship, but Lou refuses to be drawn, before doing a runner and leaving Tim with the girls. Declaring that Kit Green has ruined his life, Mick claims he’s going to kill him as he sets about his plan to reel him in.

As the dramatic week draws to a close, on wasteground, Bernie tells Mick that if he thinks he can use her as a bargaining chip, he’s mistaken as Kit doesn’t give a stuff about her. Mick gets Kit on the phone and summons him, making it clear he’s to come alone.

When Kit eventually approaches, Mick emerges, gripping Bernie and making his demands. Knowing her life is in danger, Bernie makes an impassioned plea and tells Kit that she did try to contact him all those years ago, but his mum wouldn’t hear of it. Will Kit comply and risk his own life or walk away from Bernie for good?

Elsewhere, when Lisa takes a call from Jess from the hospital, she’s desperate for any news on Craig. Tim, Sally Metcalfe, Gemma and Chesney Winter-Brown rake over the horrors of the day as they try to support each other, while Kirk Sutherland calls Beth Tinker to tell her what has happened to Craig.

Also, with Tim still looking after Shanice and Joanie, what has happened to Lou? And after a traumatic day, Lisa tells her girlfriend Carla Connor she’s determined to grab happiness where she can.
